The Wallcreeper, Tichodroma muraria is another one of those birds that is unique enough to be placed in its own family - Tichodromidae. However, there is still discussion as to its actual placement. Some argue that it should be lumped in with the Sittidae (Nuthatches).

The Wallcreeper is found at high elevations in Europe and Asia and is easily told by its small size, overall gray color and incredible crimson coloration to the wings.

Classification:

Order: Passeriformes
