Blue-winged Teal

Anas discors

Dec 8

The Blue-winged Teal has a subtle beauty that really grows on you. It lives in North America but migrates to Central and parts of South America. Some even rarely make it to Europe.

Classification:

Order:  Anseriformes
Family:  Anatidae
Genus:  Anas
Species:  A. discors

Some have disputed its place in Anas, so it may be moved to another genus or even have a new one named.
