The Brown Treecreeper, Climacteris picumnus, is native to eastern Australia and is the largest of the Australian Treecreepers. As the name implies it habitually creeps up the trunks of trees looking for small invertebrates to eat. It is quite noisy and can be found by listening for it.

Classification:

Order: Passeriformes
Family: Climacteridae
Genus: Climacteris
Species: C. picumnus
