The White-crowned Sparrow, Zonotrichia leucophrys, is an easily recognized sparrow of North America. The only bird that can be confused with it is the White-throated Sparrow. The main difference is that the White-crowned Sparrow does not have a white throat.

Its food is primarily seeds, but is supplemented with small invertebrates.

Classification:

Order: Passeriformes
Family: Emberizidae
Genus: Zonotrichia
Species: Z. leucophrys
