The Secretary-bird is unique in that it is an Eagle-like bird that hunts primarily by walking on its long legs through grasslands. It then captures everything from insects to small snakes to eat. Because it is so unusual, it is the only member of the family Sagittariidae.

It lives in the lower two-thirds of Africa.
