The Pheasant-tailed Jacana is an unusual Jacana because of its tail. The females are more colorful than the males and take more than one male for a mate.
They live throughout Indonesia, southeast Asia and India. They have a long tail which is missing during the non-breeding season. Like other Jacanas, they spend most of their time walking on floating vegetation and looking for food.
