Rainbow Lorikeets are simply charming and beautiful members of the Parrot family Psittacidae. They are found in Australia and the surrounding large and small islands.
Their tonges are specially designed to eat nectar and soft fruit. So, although they are very beautiful and make good pets, they are a bit hard to take care of. They require large amounts of fruit and tend to shoot their waste out the sides of a cage. They can make quite a mess.
