The Hammerkop is one of those birds that is unique enough to deserve its own family. Hamerkop means hammerhead and sometimes this bird is known as the Hammerhead Stork.
It lives in SW Arabia and Africa south of the Sahara. It primarily inhabits shallow wetlands.
